I personally think HG and Morning Musume should go on a tour in other countries to regain their popularity these days but language barrier should be a major bottleneck.

They could just sing and dance, then we would not have to worry about the language barrier so much. Or we put them on a english language boot camp

Noel; I may have asked you this before, but how did you learn how to speak English so well? My mom said that they teach English in a lot of schools in Japan now as a second language?
If HG could learn to master English, that would definitely open up the market for him and he would regain his popularity overnight.

Slick, slick! lol Thanks for the comment anyway. Speaking English very well is what I have been dreamed of and I am still struggling with speaking English to this day.
As your mother said, English is taught as a second language in Japanese school but the English education in Japan doesn't help us speak English very much. As a matter of fact, a lot of people say that the English education in Japan sxxks. Well, it wasn't a beg deal to me 'cos I had not paid attention to what teachers said very much. lol
One of the reasons why we suck at speaking English or other languages is that Japanese language doesn't have a lot of sound compared with other languages such as English, French and Chinese.
So we can't quite catch the sounds, especially the sounds that we don't have in Japanese, like L, R, TH, V and some other sonunds and it's very difficult for us to tell L from R or B from V. In fact, there are million reasons that we can't understand English well. English is a completely different language from Japanese indeed. The more I learn English, the more I realize how apart the two languages are from each other.
Besides, truth be told, I don't think Japanese society does require English skill that much. Well, this is just my opinion though. Not so much as you may imagine or general Japaense think.
Because you could be a president of a big Japanese company or even be a prime minister of Japan without speaking any English. So, in this country, English isn't required much to achieve your goals, pretty much any goal you set. If your goal is living and working in other countries, it's another story though.
Being able to speak English is regarded as cool in Japan and lots of Japanese go to English school but then again, it's even funny (or should I say pathetic) we still suck at speaking English.
To me, some English reference books written by a British English teacher teaching in Japan were a huge help to understand what English language is really like and grab the essence of the language. Come to think of it, it's very natural that it's the best way for learners to learn from native speakers who understand the language deeply. So, joining in a community like this and reading messages written by English speakers should be a wonderful help for learners. I would like to say thank you very much to all you guys!!
Maybe you can't belive this but in fact, even in some English text books or in university entrance exams, there are mistakes or queer questions to say the least from the perspective of native speakers, like there could be two answers for this question and such.
Sorry for the long post. I wasn't expecting this message was going to be this long and I almost forgot this forum is for Hard Gay.
One last thing, some people say that words can't be a reliable tool to communicate. So, it's about time we learn "hip talk" as HG does to make the world better place to live. Don't you think? lol

Putting them on a english language boot camp should be a brilliant idea!
A drill sergeant goes like, "Hey gay guy! Don't fool aound here! Pay a loy more attention to what I say! There's no country for you to be back! If you wanna succeed in this country, get some English at least! Am I made myself clear!?"
HG: "Okaaay! Clear as my shiny pants, sir. HOOO!!"
I don't know the sergeant will be harsh on Morning Musume girs though. lol

That was quite an impressive post, if I don't say so myself!!! Good job, Noel!!
I tell you what, if anyone tells you that you speak lousy English, send them my way so I can give them a lesson in some serious English!!
When my mom came from Japan, she learned how to speak English by watching TV and just interacting with people. If you spoke to her now, you can barely detect an accent.
