Who is Hard Gay?
Alot of people often get confused when they see the title and automatically think it's something pornographic or hentai related. Oh how wrong they are! They're missing out on a totally amazing exerience!
Masaki Sumitani is the real name of Hard Gay. HG was a character which took him around 5 years to actually launch. Funnily enough, his goal was to simply become a wrestler, but it was after an appearance in a skit show that he decided to take his character further.
What does Hard Gay do?
That's just it! He does whatever he wants! He walks around Tokyo 'helping' people, gets children to eat food they hate, gyrates in front of old women, and basically attempts to do good deeds whilst adorned in black leather.
Who supports HG?
Hard Gay is supported by Yoshimoto Kogyo. YK is the largest comedy factory in Japan and is one of the most well known comedy centers around that area.
Who subs the videos?
The friendly people over at Bakakage provide their subbing skills in providing english translations for the site.
Why are the HG.org links on some videos?
We host them, we spend our money to make direct downloads available to people. We place our link in order to show people where the download came from. We 100% give subbed credit to Bakakage.
Where are all the other videos?
We steadily release various videos to the public in order to maintain interest. Yes, HG.org knows you want them all, but aren't you excited waiting for more episodes?
Some episodes are not subtitled! Are you going to add subs?

He got it from the WWF (Now WWE wrestler) Razor Ramon (who was famous for the Razors Edge).
Some Japanese pronounce it Lazor Ramon.

HG is a comedian. He does a variety of things.
1) Going around the public in leather and helping in a Hidden Camera type show.
2) Goes on talk shows to say funny comments.
3) Goes on other comedy shows to act
The show which started it all was called Bakuten.

Most of the information that references HG is from 2005-2006. Since his marriage to Anna Suzuki, what has he been doing lately? Does he still do his HG skits?

Is he still as popular as he was back in 2005-2006, or has his character started to wane? the only reason I ask this is because I read elsewhere that it was.
I wish I had access to Japanese TV so I could see him on various shows; the U.S. is really missing out.

Just out of curiosity, does he speak/understand any of the English language at all?
On our DirectTV, there is one of the channels called, "COMEDY CENTRAL" that is pretty funny. Typical all American humor. It would be good for him to watch some of the comedians like George Lopez, Margaret Cho and adapt different styles of his skits.
In all that said, I have never laughed so hard as when my friend emailed me the link to youtube.com and that was our 1st exposure to HG!!! We absolutely love him!!!! HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Sadly, he is not as popular as he used to be in Japan anymore. If you ask a Japanese person they'll say 'he's soo 2005'
Yes he does speak english but not that much. He speaks basic English.

OK, Japanese person here.
Kei-kun is right. He is not as popular as he used to be on Bakuten show.
I don't follow his appearance on Japanes TV shows 'cos I don't watch TV that much.
I think there are at least a couple of TV shows that he's in but seems like he puts weight on wrestling these days.
As for his appearance in the US, HG's fellow comedian, Nakayama Kinnikun is now living in the states to train his body before he left Japan, HG said to Kinnikun "Watashi mo rainen atari okkakete ikukamo. San Francisco de hard gay jijou mo saguttekitehosii" which means "Maybe I will follow follow him. I'd like him to look into hard gay circumstances in San Francisco."
So I guess HG is interested in visiting the states.

San Francisco is more of a "sleazy" gay community in my personal opinion...
If he's going to come to Cailfornia, he should think about coming to West Hollywood, CA
They have a huge gay community out there and it is a pretty upscale area in parts of it.
Here's something for HG to check out as they have a HUGE Gay Pride Parade every year:
